Our hydrogel research area is focused on the design of biopolymer-based smart hydrogel formats (e.g injectables, films, sheets, patches, gel-serums) that respond to external stimuli such as pH, light, heat, or ionic strength to release therapeutic cargo to the target site for  applications such as wound healing, anti-aging , photoprotection, etc.)
Our biopharmaceutical research focuses on characterizing protein interactions within formulations and optimizing key parameters to enhance stability, functionality, and manufacturability.

Our consumer products research focuses on a systemic understanding of materials like biosurfactants, exploring their self-assembly behavior and mechanistic roles in formulations for the  design of safe, sustainable, and high-performance formulation. By uncovering the fundamental interactions, we aim to elevate formulation science through deep physiochemical understanding within soft matter systems.

AI/ML, Advanced Characterization & 3D Printing

One of our group's objectives is to accelerate product design by using AI/ML models and advanced characterization techniques to analyze systemic mechanisms. Explore our main research areas and techniques tab for more details on how we utilize these methods.
